Vasanthi Chathurani is one of very talented award winning senior actress in Sinhala cinema. Apart from Sinhala films she acts so many soap opera in Sinhala language which were ultimately popular in Sri Lanka. Real Name of Wasanti Chaturani is Wasantha Doreen Peterson and she did her schooling at Gampaha Holy Cross Convent .She started a film career by acting Gehenu Lamai which was directed by famous Sri Lankan film director Sumitra Peiris'. After Gehenu Lamai she acted another super hit film Ganga Addara with popular Sri Lankan actor late Vijyaya Kumaratunga in 1980. She wants best actress award for the Ganga Addara film at Sarasaviya Awards Festival in the same year. She was well recognize tele drama actress and won so many awards for natural performance. She wear saris in most of her TV soap operas and most of her fans are love to see the different styles of Saree fashion which she do in normally in TV series.
